Toipumista - Convalescing

Long time.  I'm typing this with my left hand, the right one still being out of working order.

For a while out of order was a bit more of my right side, on account of being in an accident on a hang-gliding lesson. I have no recollection of how it all happened, so I can offer no details. In any case, I suffered a brain concussion, a fracture in the lower part of my right eye socket, more in the sternum and 13 ribs, more in the shoulder and elbow bones and my pelvic area... and assorted bruises commonly caused by such happenings.

A surgeon inspected my eye orbital repair, other reconstructive work will be looked into after a week. My recovery has been quite speedy, and I want to thank all the medical professionals who have put their work in this case, as well as all my family members and friends who came to visit me while i was in the hospital or sent their get-well wishes. All this has accelerated the journey to a better health, probably as good as it can ever be expected.

In short: it could have killed me. Of my life I am thankful to people at Töölö hospital intensive care ward and later ward no. 5, even later Laakso hospital ward no. 11, for everything they have done.
